PropNow does not collect, store, or share your personal information. All your settings stay on your device. We don't have a server, we don't have accounts, and we don't know who you are.
On your device
What PropNow stores on your device
The following preferences are saved locally in your app's private storage and never leave your device:
- Maidenhead grid square — the 4-character locator you enter in Settings (e.g. EM64). This is an approximate location covering roughly a 100×200 km area. You enter it voluntarily; the app never accesses your GPS.
- Region, grid radius, and distance unit — your display preferences
- Antenna profiles — names and descriptions you enter for your station's antennas
- Notification preferences — whether K-index, X-flare, and band opening alerts are enabled
None of this is transmitted to us. We have no servers.
Third parties
External services PropNow connects to
PropNow fetches data from two public services to do its job:
NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center swpc.noaa.gov
PropNow fetches solar weather data (solar flux index, K-index, X-ray flux, alerts) from NOAA's public API. No personal information is sent — it is a plain data request, the same as loading a webpage.
PSKReporter pskreporter.info
PropNow connects to PSKReporter's public feeds to receive live amateur radio spot data. It subscribes only at the region level (e.g. North America) using a random, temporary session ID that is regenerated each time the app connects. Your Maidenhead grid square is never sent to PSKReporter — all filtering to your specific grid and radius happens locally on your device.
PSKReporter is a public amateur radio spotting network operated by Philip Gladstone; their privacy practices are described at pskreporter.info.

PropNow has no servers and no user accounts, so none of your data is ever sent to us.

In-app purchases
PropNow offers a one-time purchase to unlock premium features. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. PropNow never sees your payment information, credit card, or Apple ID.
Alerts
Notifications
If you enable alerts, PropNow delivers them locally on your device using Apple's notification system. No notification data is routed through our servers because we don't have any.
Children
Children's privacy
PropNow does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated date at the top will reflect it. For an app that collects no data, changes are unlikely.
