Most apps show you the airport.
HomeWX shows you your yard.
Your microclimate is real. The temperature in your backyard on a calm night can be 6 or 8 degrees different from what the nearest forecast says. HomeWX reads from the station you already own and shows you what's actually happening — no interpolation, no guesses, no irrelevant national weather.
Supported stations
Works with your station
If your station uploads to AmbientWeather or Weather Underground, HomeWX can connect to it. Both providers can be active at the same time.
- All AmbientWeather stations (WS-2902, WS-5000, etc.)
- Lightning: daily strike count + nearest distance
- Soil temperature & moisture
- Air quality: PM2.5 (µg/m³ + EPA category)
- CO₂ (ppm + ASHRAE category)
- Any PWS uploading to WU — AcuRite, Davis, Ecowitt, Ambient, and more
- Lightning: daily strike count + nearest distance
- Soil temperature & moisture
- Air quality: PM2.5 (µg/m³ + EPA category)
- Leaf wetness (0–15 scale)
Have stations on both services? Connect both at once. All stations appear in a single app and you can switch between them from the main screen.
Features
Calm by default. Deep on demand.
HomeWX surfaces information only when it matters — and stays out of your way when it doesn't.
Only tells you when something actually matters
HomeWX watches your readings continuously and surfaces a notable conditions card on the home screen only when something is worth your attention — a freeze risk, a heat index warning, a pressure drop, fog potential, or a station record you're approaching.
Smart alerts can be configured for your thresholds, each with its own cooldown period so you get one notification when something happens — not one every five minutes.
Your personal climate history
HomeWX builds a two-year rolling history from your station data and tracks your personal records — all-time and per-month. Hottest day, coldest night, wettest day, highest gust, lowest pressure.
Records update automatically and appear on the home screen with a trophy icon when you're close to breaking one.
All Time Records
Is your backyard actually warmer than town?
HomeWX answers this by comparing your station's temperature to the nearest NWS ASOS airport observation — using the free NWS public API, no account required.
You see something like "+4°F warmer · KBHM · 8 mi" at a glance. Works in both Imperial and Metric. US territory only.
Make it yours
Choose your hero font style — Rounded for a friendly feel, Serif for editorial, Monospaced for technical, or Default for clean and minimal. Then pick your weight, from Thin to Semibold. A live preview shows exactly how your temperature will look before you commit.
Dynamic backgrounds react to current conditions with animated clear sky, rain, overcast, and night scenes. Or switch to a neutral static gradient.

Standard tiles are always available. Specialty tiles appear only if your hardware actually has that sensor — no phantom readings, no placeholders.

What's next
Coming soon
HomeWX 1.0 is just the beginning. Here's what's already on the roadmap.
Weather Streaks
Consecutive-day streaks from your station history — "Day 14 of highs above 90°F" or "Dry streak: 8 days without rain" — surfaced as notable condition cards on the home screen.
Cross-device History Sync via CloudKit
Your two-year station history currently lives on-device only. A future update will sync it across your iPhone and iPad automatically via CloudKit — no setup required.
